The Draft Tax Code should be scrutinized the Next Plenary Week for the Government to bring forward the Draft Budget for 2011
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
made this statement at the briefing in the Parliament.
Asked whether he shared optimism of Mykola Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine, regarding the possible adoption of the Tax Code on 19 November, V. Lytvyn declared that it would depend upon the quality of the bill. "I am looking forward to receiving a draft Tax Code in November", the Head of the Parliament stated. He announced that more that 4,4 thousand amendments had been introduced to it, while the process of their amending was ongoing.
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the specialized Committee shall scrutinize the amendments and refer the draft Code to the People´s Deputies of Ukraine. "We expect that during the next plenary week this issue would be completed for the Government to introduce the budget. We are pressed by the budget issue", V. Lytvyn explained.
V. Lytvyn emphasised, "The content of the bill is more important than the date of its adoption." "There should be a logical conclusion in the Tax Code issue", the Head of the Parliament stressed. "Life of tax payers should not worsen on adoption of this Code."
